Our Space

Bash is located in the Historic Chamberlain Building, built in 1917 in what is now the Western Gateway Park of Downtown Des Moines. It was originally built to house Taylor Automotive. As any building over a century old has, it has gone through several different changes and been home to many businesses, but the charm and craftsmanship has stayed the same. The classic, storied brick, gorgeous tin ceiling , original penny tile floor, and one of the most breathtaking views of the city make Bash perfect for any event and occasion.

The Bash Event facility is available for rent from 10am for setup until 12 midnight. Our facility will accommodate 350 people seated or 450 people for a cocktail style reception or event. Your party will have access to the space starting at 10am for set up of any decorations on Saturday rentals and 4pm for Friday rentals. You will need to inform our staff ahead of time when you will be arriving for set up so that we can make the necessary arrangements. We do not allow the use of tape, staples or any other potentially damaging products on our walls or wood trim. The floor plan will need to be provided at least two weeks prior to your event to be approved and reviewed by both parties.

Rental Costs

Monday through Thursday evenings from 5:00pm until 10:00pm - $1500

Friday evening from 5:00pm until 10:00pm - $3800

Saturdays from 10:00am to 12:00 midnight - $4800

Sunday from 10:00am to 10:00pm - $3800

Holiday Weekends - $5500

New Years Eve - $7500

Full Weekend from Friday 5:00pm to Sunday 12:00 noon - $7500

Ceremony fee is an additional $500

Holiday Party 2018 Rental Costs

Weekday nights (Monday-Thursday):

  • Standard Price: $1,500
    • Space rented from 5pm-10pm
  • Catering
    • Use of in-house catering, or choice to bring in an outside licensed and insured caterer
  • Bar
    • $1,500 bar minimum
    • 1 bartender is included in the rental price*

Friday and Sunday Pricing:

  • Standard price: $3,800 (if using outside caterer)
  • Discounted price: $2,500 (if using in-house catering)
  • Bar Costs
    • $1,500 minimum
    • 1 bartender is included in the rental price*

Saturday Pricing:

  • Standard price: $4,800 if using outside caterer
  • Discounted price: $2,500 (if using in-house catering)
